Evan KilgoreBorn in Los Angeles in December, 1983, Evan Kilgore grew up in Washington State, where he developed an early love for both films and literature. He began writing short stories and, later, novels, at a young age, before returning to Southern California to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Screenwriting at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.

He sold his first novel, Who is Shayla Hacker, to Bleak House Books during his senior year as an undergraduate, in 2006, and after its publication the following year, Bleak House released his second novel, The Children of Black Valley, in 2008. Made in China and The Last March of Nine would later follow.

At the same time, Evan began working to develop screenwriting projects with writing partner Samuel Franco, both of whom were included in Variety's Top Ten Writers to Watch, in 2017. Their first script, Mayday 109, was honored on the Black List, Hit List, and Young and Hungry List, before it was optioned by Thunder Road Films and FlynnPictureCo. Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver, The Fault in Our Stars) is attached to star as the film prepares for pre-production.

The duo's second feature script, Keeper of the Diary, received resounding interest within the industry, at last selling to Fox Searchlight after a fierce weekend bidding war between multiple studios. Actor Kenneth Branagh (Dunkirk, Murder on the Orient Express) is attached to star, with Reed Morano (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Rhythm Section) directing. The film is expected to gear up for shooting in 2020/2021.

Franco/Kilgore sold two television pilots to USA Network and FX Networks in 2019, both of which are now packaging and in development. The Fall of the House of FIFA, set up at FX, follows the precipitous collapse of the corrupt soccer empire that heralded a global multibillion-dollar shift in power.

In the past, Evan has also volunteered as a mentor with the Young Storytellers Program, which pairs writers and industry professionals with elementary school students to foster and develop a love for writing at a young age.

Franco and Kilgore are both represented by Verve Talent and Literary Agency, Management 360, and Morris/Yorn, and both live in Los Angeles.
